I’ve been working on what seems like a million different projects lately, but I wanted to quickly post a couple of the Doggins character designs in-progress.

Doggins, getting closer to his final design. Still mainly working on his face.

Early sketch of Fitzwilliam. Working on a digital version of him, to be posted soon.
It’s been over year and a half since I started creating FELT posters, and lately it’s grown a little quiet. There’s a reason.
I’ve been working hard the past few months to evolve the project into something new. I’ll share details about this new project at a later point, but for now I’ve decided to celebrate the conclusion of FELT with a full set of the posters as desktop wallpapers, for free! You can also still buy the posters in the shop, for the time being.
As a conclusion and a “to be continued,” I created one final poster. It was actually the very first FELT poster I made, but it sat unfinished after I decided to instead begin in Genesis. Now, I think it illustrates the transition perfectly.

Out of the eater came something to eat.
Out of the strong came something sweet.

As David and I announced this morning, we’re building an adventure game!
The story is based on our adorably weird dog Oliver (whom we affectionately call Oliver Doggins). We’ve determined that he dreams about two things: food and adventure. So our game is based on what we imagine his dream adventures to be. The first episode takes place on the moon, with Doggins pitted against his nemesis: Fitzwilliam the squirrel.
The game will have a mid-century sci-fi art style, inspired by vintage Disneyland Tomorrowland posters and the work of Charles & Ray Eames and Alvin Lustig. I’ve been working on some development art to get a feel for colors and design.

The first, a quick gouache sketch to test colors.

A few of many character sketches. He's completely Oliver, in looks and personality!

A digital background concept. It looks better in full-resolution, but this is the style we're aiming for.

Digital concept for the moon forest where Fitzwilliam the squirrel lives.
